Just checking in for a moment...

I have been sooooo busy. But this is no excuse so i figured it was time to make a new post and let everyone know all of the happenings. I have been busy because I found out I am walking the line in May and will be transferring to a University this fall. This is all happening quickly so please understand I probably will not be posting a lot.

My AmeriCorps term will be ending next month and I am looking forward to what the future holds. I love the Yuma Community Food Bank and feel passionate about all the work I have been able to accomplish in a year. Along with becoming an accomplished grant written, I have built a skill set that can be used no matter where I go in life. 

I am excited that Nathan's Mom is getting here today and I hope that she likes our new place. Did I mention we moved again? Now we actually have a backyard which is fantastic! Mr.Socks of course is in love with it, and our two best friends moved in with their dogs. It's a full house but it is fun and will definitely be a learning experience.

I am still cooking away as usual. I need to post the pictures of everything I made for Thanksgiving, it was a lot more than I thought and they turned out deliciously! :) I will be posting later on this week again. Have a fantastic day!

The Season of Giving has begun!

  Beginning Tomorrow evening I will be baking the lovely pie shown above ( I'll be posting the recipe and final pictures afterwards of course) . This will be the first time I will be trying the criss cross pattern for a crust and I really hope it turns out well! I will be trying to make pumpkin pie again in a few weeks because my first trying was extremely unsuccessful....All I can do is try, try again :)

  I will also be trying to make a appetizer out of the Taste of Recipe Book that I received at their Home Cooking show last week which should be lots of fun! 
There are lots of pictures to come this week. It's a short work week so I'll have to excuse myself as I get back to work. This year has been fantastic so far.  I'm so excited to just snuggle up on the coach with a warm cup of Hot Cocoa, my Husband and our Puppy as we settle down to start planning our Winter Wonderland!
